Contacts "Twin Paradox"

This is a scene from the movie Contact in which they show a version of the twin paradox. in the movie they portray the twin paradox as Ellie who is traveling at near the speed of light takes a trip to a distant planet and it takes her 18 hours wile the rest of the world thinks it only took a few seconds. The problem with that portrayal of the twins paradox is that it should of happened the other way around in theory the trip for Ellie should have only felt like a few seconds and taken 18 hours for Earth. If I were to have written this scene I would have had Ellie take the 18 hours but the rest of the world think she disappeared for 18 months.
